Another set from the freestyle competition earlier this season on the Gull. Moves like this all happens so fast & you don't realize just how far they get themselves out of the water - pretty impressive!

Rear sync would have benefited this image or a faster shutter speed to completely freeze the motion(I find the foward blur to be distracting). I am already finding the limitations of low power strobes but still have so much to learn!

Up to 5 paddlers at a time would start from the top of the dam & run the length of the river battling for first place. This bottleneck feature is called Top Drop & there are only 1 or 2 lines to successfully navigate this feature. There were a few tense & exciting moments for sure & surprisingly no one had to swim from a wet exit.

I actually have a two light set up for this shot. 2 bare 430EX’s to camera right at full power to help pull detail out of his face.
An image from a backyard walk-about a couple weeks ago...there has been little time for any personal work this season.
I can't believe how fast the summer is going by - I need to start planning my annual fall camping trip - any suggestions?
