Please help me id both these birds, I've lost my Petersons Guide in the move & it’s late & I'm to lazy to do a search for them online.

Pretty dramatic light this night, I had a difficult time positioning myself for that magic moment.
I was trying to hard tonight to get a photograph - any photograph. It's not good to force it, should just let it happen...
I was heading home from setting up some of my work for display at The Art Hive in Maple Lake -

& thought I should stop to have a look at this bend in the river - I would like to stop there again on a more dramatic night, the sun sets directly over top of it.
This is another place that I have driven past too many times to count & I have never really taken the time to explore...
I have admired photo's that have long leading line shadows from trees & I really like the images I've seen - since then I have been on the look out for those characteristics.
Next time I would like to try get something more defined & dramitic - the hunt is still on!
